Lap-Band Surgery may be right for you if:
Your BMI is more than 40 or more than 35 with obesity related health conditions.
You weigh twice your ideal weight or are at least 100 pounds overweight.
You are between the ages of 18 and 60.
You have been overweight for 5 years or more.

I was banded on July 4th, 2003 at 255 pounds and since then I have lost over 80 pounds and am in the best shape I have been in almost 10 years. My knees and lower back no longer hurt. I can move around, cross my legs and play with my kids. So its starting to really make a difference.
Over the years I have tried numerous diets without success. My solution was weight loss surgery; but I needed a mush less drastic procedure, that was minimally invasive.
The lap-band has dramatically changed my life. I am confident I will lose the 130 pounds I need to lose. I've regained my physical freedom that I had lost for awhile. It's a wonderful feeling.

Hi my name is Stephanie and approximately two months ago I had the Lap Band procedure. This procedure has helped me to lose weight and it has helped me to feel better about my self , I feel more comfortable with what I see in the mirror.
I used to weigh 253 lbs and now I'm 165.3 lbs, the best of all is that I'm Happy because I can live a normal life, just like everybody else. I can exercise, run, swim and play without feeling a thing.
